- A coalition of over 50 local, state, and national Asian American organizations will be filing a legal brief in support of equal marriage rights for gay and lesbian couples in the consolidated California Marriage Cases currently before the California Supreme Court. The brief focuses on past marriage discrimination against Asian immigrants in California, according to the Asian Pacific American Legal Center.- The Philippine government is strongly defending itself against allegations of multi-million dollar kickback over a controversial telecommunications deal with a Chinese firm. Arroyo's husband is reportedly involved in this deal.
